Winter is Waning

Well, as I sit here in my cozy livingroom this morning on this gloriously sunny and beautiful day, I really have to ask . . . is Winter waning? Will Spring really be here soon? I would have to say NO to both those questions. Yesterday we had snow that blanketed my beautiful snowdrops and tet'e a tet'e daffodils. Today, albeit gorgeously sunny, it's really cold . . . 24 degrees! Yikes! I've been flipping through some wonderful gardening magazines and making plans for what theme my garden will have this year. Probably more of the same, but with lots of new color.

I just purchased a new slipcover for my Sunroom sofa. I can't wait to get it. I've had the same sofa for the past 20 years - it's been bleached out by the sun, but I love its shape. So a new spruce up is in order. I think I will toss some new pillows onto it, change up the color a bit. A fresh start for Spring. I like that!

And as Winter wanes, new colors are popping up in my shop @ http://www.tippystockton.com. I love color . . . can't wait to get back to designing.

Are any of you thinking this is a rambling, off the wall post? I do! But, I have so much to say and I thought that I would just put it all in one post. So without further ado, COLIN FIRTH will win the Oscar this Sunday for his role in "The King's Speech". I have been in love with Colin for a long time, but most particularly since he was cast in "Love Actually". He had my heart from that moment. I believe that "The King's Speech" will also win the Oscar for Best Picture. Have you seen it? Don't miss it . . . amazing!

So, as the weekend begins, here's a little reminder . . . THINK SPRING!

From me to you . . . let's have a GIVEAWAY!

I've saved the best for last! Tell me your Oscar Favorite in a

SPRING Arrived this Weekend!

Photos courtesy of: CYE Photography

It was clear and cold outside, but clearly SPRING arrived at the Ruffles and Rust Show in Monroe this past weekend. What an incredible time I had visiting with friends, making new friends and customers, and just enjoying all of the eye candy. Sadly, I don't have many photos of other booths :( It was so busy all weekend that I barely had a minute to make the rounds. But, here's a few pictures of my booth . . . my happy place!

Anyone care to guess my favorite color???

My friend, Kristi of Sassy Shades fashioned some amazing lampshades to sit atop my milk glass lamps. They are gorgeous!!!

Pearl was all decked out this weekend, as always. Festooned in her aqua best, she even sported some Springtime forsythia around her waist . . . clever girl!

I was able to have a speck of time to create a new line of French themed pillows. From Paris to Bonjour and a little je'taime . . . oui, oui!

Petite daffodils . . . need I say more!

A darling little chest of drawers that I threw together. So cute!

And, there you have it - one incredible weekend, amazing friends, a business partner and husband that is second to none = je'taime . . . I love you!

What's your # ???

I know back in January I gave you a brief tour of my home and I told you what a "wordy" I am. Well it seems I'm kinda into #'s also. For the past couple of weeks, I have been creating these gorgeous necklaces using old locker tags, or in some cases, hotel key numbers. They have created quite a stir out there, and as a matter of fact, of the #'s that appear above, only the #14 is still available. http://www.etsy.com/listing/67735707/no-14-rue-la-fontaine-necklace-vintage I've just recently come into about 60 of these tags with various numbers and I would love, love, love to create a special necklace for you with your favorite number (that is if it is among my collection). You can pick the color scheme - it will be your design. I'll just put it together.
These necklaces are all wirewrapped in oxidized sterling silver, and are secured with a very sturdy lobster/trigger clasp, also in oxidized sterling silver. I can make it as long as you like, just know that for longer than 18" in length on the necklace piece, there will be an extra charge. The necklaces as they appear above run $78. Special orders take 7-10 business days (or sooner, depending on the workload). You can order these through my website, just shoot me an e-mail beforehand so I can create a reserved listing for you.
These would make a wonderful Mother's Day gift if you're thinking that far ahead. Or a "just because" gift for someone special. The possibilities are endless - let's chat about it!

Front Page LOVE on ETSY

It was 1:00am (yes in the morning). I'm tossing and turning because the Taco Soup and Mini Cheeseburgers are giving my stomach grief, and low and behold I get a notice that my Garden Party earrings are on the Front Page of ETSY. Wahoo, Yay!!! But it's 1:00am PST. Who is going to see it? Just me I guess. Oh well, it was wonderful. And these earrings are darling! I just wish I could figure out how to get the treasury to post here. You can view it on my FB page @ http://www.facebook.com/tippystocktonjewelry.

My Heart Beats for You!!!

It goes without saying . . . I LOVE Valentine's Day! This is true for so many reasons. I met my dear sweet husband one day after Sweetheart Day back in 1980. I was lamenting that I just wasn't clicking with any of the "stuck up" California boys. I had just moved (reluctantly) from Illinois - my Dad had been transferred for a new job, and I was too young to stay back by myself. And 31 years later, I am married to and in love with my "not very stuck up" California boy.

But the other reason I LOVE Valentine's Day is HEARTS! As you can see above, there is no shortage of hearts in my jewelry creating these days. But I want to tell you about some special hearts that I've come to love. These special little hearts are made by my sweet friend Lisa Souers. Lisa is this full of energy, darling and happy woman who has inspired me by her business, her laughter, and her zest for life. You'll see many of her ephemera hearts have shown up on some of my designs this season. I think they go perfectly with my Vintage designs. See for yourself here on my Embarcardero Bracelet - so fun! http://www.etsy.com/listing/66957361/embarcadero-bracelet-vintage-brass

So here's to a lovely Sweetheart Day . . . who makes your heart go pitter patter??? Tell me "your" story and be entered into a giveaway to win my "Lil Crush Necklace". http://www.etsy.com/listing/67065747/the-lil-crush-necklace-swarovski-crystal
I will pick a random winner on on Tuesday, February 8 so you'll have your necklace before the big day!
