Why I LOVE what I do!

Last month, I was asked to create a necklace for a friend of mine whose Son and Daughter-in-Law were expecting a new baby . . . a Baby Girl! This is so special because they have two beautiful little boys, and Grandma really wanted to celebrate this sweet birth.

So, the necklace had to be PINK, and have the #3 attached for the three little kiddos. Then I just started adding little trinkets; a heart, a Vintage French Virgin Mary charm, and a fleur de lis. I wirewrapped baby pink rondelle beads for the necklace and hung it on a Vintage pink buckle. It's really lovely, and I feel pretty honored to have been asked to be a part of this special gift.

Then, a few weeks ago, I was asked to mark a special birthday for a darling little girl who turned SIX yesterday. Hence the #26. Mom asked me to create something that she could wear that would celebrate her little girl's birthday and would forever be a rememberance of this special day. I couldn't resist sending "D" a little bauble to match her Mommy's necklace. I loved that I used multi-colored beads on the necklace - it was a nice departure from doing one color. I loved it so much that I think that I might just have to make something for myself with these colors.

This is why I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE what I do!

Can you tell :)

Wedded Bliss

Who doesn't love a Wedding? This seems to be the Summer of Weddings for me here at Tippy Stockton. A sweet young lady who I met several years ago approached me in the Spring to design some pieces that she could wear for her Wedding Day, as well as create some lovely pieces for her Bridesmaids. Now this was a project I could sink my teeth into. Not having any daughters myself, I felt like this was an opportunity for me to dream. I have to say, this was one of the most fun projects that I have worked on in a long time. Abby's necklace was, I have to say SPECTACULAR!!! I had a lovely old brooch tucked away in my stash of goodies, and I knew this would make the perfect necklace for my sweet and petite girl.

(fresh water pearls are wirewrapped on sterling silver and attached to this lovely Vintage brooch)
For the Bridesamaids, Abby wanted something a little chunky, kind of a statement piece. She also wanted something that they could wear long after the Wedding. With a little help from an ETSY friend, we decided on these gorgeous Vintage cabachons; two sizes separated by Swarovksi crystal rounds. All wirewrapped together with oxidized sterling silver. The earrings are Vintage as well - the teardrop shaped beads are amazing and are complemented with Swarovski beads and a length of chain.

Abby has picked a gorgeous shade of Aubergine - leaning a little more towards a Raisin color. So pretty and so popular this season.

I was also asked to make a companion bracelet for a fresh water pearl bracelet that Abby had received from her Dad. I kept it simple by adding a few fresh water pearls, Swarovski crystals, and a lovely Swarovski rhinestone bead. All attached to a delicate sterling silver chain.

The flower girls will each receive this precious little piece; fashioned to resemble the bracelet that Abby is wearing, this one comes complete with a sterling silver flower basket charm. Darling!

I came home last night to find these beauties in my in-box. My jewelry is sold in a little shop in Kirkland, WA called Haley's Cottage. On a recent trip into the shop, a lovely young lady purchased the earrings above to go with her ensemble. Can you say gorgeous???

Here's Michelle looking so pretty wearing my Juliet Earrings.

And they lived happily ever after.

Who says work isn't fun. I get to do this every day! I am blessed and I love seeing the after part. I'm finishing up another wedding order as we speak. So check back soon when I will show you Abby's Wedding - September 4, 2010, and Cathy and Zach's Wedding - September 4, 2010. Congratulations Abby, Cathy and Michelle!

Christmas in July . . .

As many of us are complaining about how hot it is outside, take a minute and really look at the photo above. That will be us in just a few short months; gathering with our families around the 'Ole Christmas Tree. What will be under your tree this year??? Well, I can help you with that. Every year ETSY hosts a Christmas in July Sale. So, being that it's my first year selling on ETSY, I thought I would jump on that bandwagon. So starting today, Thursday, July 15, everything in the shop is ON SALE. All of my jewels are priced 25% off their original prices, and even some of the newest items are on sale. (Everything is priced with the discount in place, so no need to contact me beforehand). Have fun, Merry Christmas and Happy Summer!

Sale ends on Thursday, July 22, so get them while they're hot . . .

I love what I do!!! Read on about a Special Gift!

The following is a wonderful post written by my friend Deb Kennedy from Retreat! She had a special project for me. I was honored to be able to create this special gift - read on . . .

I think it's probably safe to share this now...

I've been waiting until this gift makes its way to someone,

because I don't want to ruin the surprise!

But I'm dying to share it - so, here goes:

That sweet beachy-looking box above is headed to Texas.

Inside is a special gift...

I went on a treasure hunt a while back, to find charms.

Special charms, each with a special meaning.

I saved them up and then asked my friend Patricia

to use them to create a special piece of jewelry.

Patricia owns Tippy Stockton Custom Jewelry,

and she is a GENIUS!

This is the very special necklace that she created!

I am just so incredibly moved that my friend took my wish,

combined it with her talent and imagination,

and came up with something so perfect.

I could not love it more!

It's silver with pearls, and aquamarine that looks just like sea glass.

All of the silver charms I gave her are included,

and each has a special meaning. The little paper tag tells what the meanings are on one side, and on the other side, it says

'Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue.'
I packaged it up nestled in a seashell.

You see, I had Patricia create this for Ashley,

the darling girl who is about to become our fourth daughter.

She's marrying our son on Friday of this week!

Joel & Ashley will be flying to Maui,

and saying their vows on the beach.

All of their family members will watch on a live webcam,

because this wedding is about them

I love the idea. It's just kind of hard to NOT be there!

At all three of our daughters' weddings,

I created the decor and flowers.

Wrapped in the stem of each of my daughters' bridal bouquets,

I placed some charms and a note to them. They still have them.

Since I can't do that for sweet Ashley,

I am sending this necklace instead.

A gift from Mom to Daughter,

for her wedding.

A day that I hope will be one more happy memory

that she can treasure always.
{and if she doesn't see this post before it arrives,
it should be a great surprise!}

Thank you SO MUCH, Patricia, for helping me do this!

My friends, if you want a custom creation for a bride

or a beautiful piece of ready-made jewelry for yourself,

please visit Patricia!

It's March . . . already!

As a child, the days, months, and years just seemed to go by so slowly. As the calendar changed from month to month, there always was something that would highlight each month. March was always a special time for me - first, it was kind of like "hump" month. Winter had blown through; sure there was always that chance of a late winter snow, but for the most part the snow and wind were behind us. The Spring bulbs were pushing their little heads up through the dirt.

It's also the month that gives us another opportunity to celebrate - St. Patrick's Day! My feast day - for those of you who are unfamiliar, this is the day in the Catholic Church that celebrates your Saint day - in my case, Patricia. My Mom always made such a big deal about this. I went to school with a homemade ribbon corsage that had chocolate coins and foil shamrocks hanging off it. I felt like I had two birthdays a year.

So as we're reminded of all the green that March brings, I also give you my "going green" category in my Shop. Don't risk the chance that you'll be pinched this St. Patty's Day. Be prepared - treat yourself to something green.

I'm almost ready to hit a milestone on my website - my 200th sale. YIPPY! I'm giving away something really special to the person who becomes #200. Will that be you? For all of you who help to get to 200, I'll slip something special into your box too! Just write "200" in notes to seller at checkout. So head over to www.tippystockton.etsy.com. I have lots of new pieces and I'll be adding a few more things this week. Go get your Green on!!!

What's in STORE for Spring . . .

Well, that's a loaded question!!! Why, you ask???
Because there's a lot going on!
The shop is full of wonderful new designs for Spring. Beautiful colors to inspire your Springtime wardrobe as well as wonderful gifts for Easter and Mother's Day. Take a look at the photo collage below and see for yourself.

I just picked up my copy of a brand new magazine called "Flea Market Style". OMGosh, if you haven't seen this magazine, you need to rush out and get yourself a copy. This magazine is chock full of amazing photographs, and it includes stories about a few people here in my backyard (well not literally, okay, close-by). You'll be introduced to Joe and Jermonne, affectionately known as the Barn House Boys!!! These two young men have such an eye for design and share their story and their home with you on the pages of this magazine. Then there's Cindy from Land of Tarte. Talent beyond compare!!! These folks all hail from the Portland, Oregon area. I've had the pleasure of meeting them at some of their past shows and I'm excited to be giving you some breaking news today . . . I will be sharing the concrete with them this coming June at a little show (little, who am I kidding?) in Spokane called The Farm Chicks Show.

TIPPY STOCKTON IS A VENDOR @ FARM CHICKS!!!

Excited, Giddy, Scared to Death!!! Just a few of the emotions that I'm feeling right now. Here's a map in case you want to know where the show is (this wonderful little map is printed in the Flea Market Style Magazine - there you will see the entire U S of A, not just little old Washington State.

So more news on the Show as we get closer. Until then, get thinking about Spring . . . we have had a taste here in the Pacific Northwest. So lovely!!! As always, if you have any questions, just fire away. Contact me @ tippystockton@aol.com. Check out my Facebook Page too for up to the minute information and specials. Sign up to become a fan; write a note on my "wall", and I'll send you a special coupon!!!

Back to the Studio I go!!! Patricia :)

It's Beginning to look a lot like . . .

Kellan - Halloween 1989.
Okay, okay. So I know that today is Halloween, but I just can't help myself. You see, I really am not a fan of Halloween. I'm not going to go into the details, but I was scared to death at a school carnival when I was a child and ever since then . . . well I just don't like Halloween. I'm trying to be nice to all of you who love this Holiday. But for me, this just means that we are even closer to the Holiday that makes my heart sing . . . Christmas! Have I told you that I love CHRISTMAS! I love Christmas - I love cooking, baking, entertaining and especially decorating our little cottage. Oh and one more thing, I LOVE Christmas music. Yes, I have already listened to a CD or two, or three, well okay 5. It was purely for inspiration, I swear!!!
So today, I thought I would give you a peek at some of what happened with that "inspiration". Here's a little sample of some of the things that have already made it to the website. Trust me, there will be plenty more. Happy Holidays to you!!!

You can find all of these lovely things on my websites @:

I Love Pink . . .

I LOVE Pink . . . and a lot of it. The Funky Junk Sisters Antique Show and Flea Market was decked out in every shade of pink imagineable. The boa's were flaunted, and the feathers were flying on Friday night as the show opened to a blustery wind and a long line of eager shoppers. Debi Kennedy of Retreat was the pink tree designer extraordinaire. She did an amazing job on this gorgeous Pink Christmas tree - tickets were sold for a drawing to benefit Breast Cancer Research and "Save the Ta Ta's". Congrats to the lucky winner!

Pearl was all decked out in Pink for the Party!!!
Lot's of Jewels and pretty bejeweled boxes.

A bevy of pillows with Holiday Greetings - can you say Merry Christmas in French??? Why yes I can . . . Joyeux Noel! and Italian . . . Buon Natale!!!

Earrings for every occasion.

Say it with flowers and fruit!!!

A sweet and lovely girly-girl lamp and custom made lampshade!!!

Vintage ornaments, and sparkly stars!

Holiday vases to brighten up your windowsill.

Another cheerful and lovely display.

This is Betty - she's from "3 Sassy Tartes". I couldn't resist taking her picture since she looks like she belongs with my booth. Oh, my gosh and how cute is she. My very own Carol Merrill!!!

TA DA!!!

My sweet helpers . . . John on the left (hubby, shoulder rubber, and all around great sport), and Todd (eye candy is his specialty - master display dude)

And my best girl Judy! Give her any project and she'll get it done.
I couldn't have done this show without all of the help of my good friends and family. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say Hello. I know the traffic was terrible and the weather was dreadful, but for all of the die hard Vintage Junkers, Thank YOU!!!
