When you own a tiny little business like mine, it's always part of the dream when someone comes knocking at your door. So when Gina Hagen from The Well Dressed Home contacted me to take a peek at my jewelry, I jumped at the chance. I had heard many good things about Gina (pronounced Jenna) and her lovely store, but I had yet to make it out to Bothell to meet Gina or see her shop. Well, was I in for a surprise. Lots of eye candy at every turn. Not only is her choice of jewelry impeccable, but honestly I wanted to move into her store. She has the right amount of antiques and found objects that she has complemented with new wares. Such a treat! I feel very proud to have Tippy Stockton Jewelry as part of this beautiful little shop. If you're in the area, stop by and say hello to Gina. She is delightful, she will make you feel welcome, and I'm sure if you twist her arm, she'll show you my jewels!!!

No. 123 Rue des Park Lane - its a French Inspired Flea Market

Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 11. Grab your BFF's, put on some comfy shoes and head on over to Kirkland for an amazing little French inspired Flea Market put on by my good friend Cindy @ Haley's Cottage. Honestly, you will feel like you're walking through the streets of Gay Paris'. So many great vendors with treats to entice. Of course, I've been hard at work getting some Autumn Jewels ready. I'll have great new pillows, lavender sachets, and lots of other goodies. I can't wait to see you!
Sign up to follow my blog, tell me that you read about the Flea Market here, and I'll give you a special gift.

Wedded Bliss

Who doesn't love a Wedding? This seems to be the Summer of Weddings for me here at Tippy Stockton. A sweet young lady who I met several years ago approached me in the Spring to design some pieces that she could wear for her Wedding Day, as well as create some lovely pieces for her Bridesmaids. Now this was a project I could sink my teeth into. Not having any daughters myself, I felt like this was an opportunity for me to dream. I have to say, this was one of the most fun projects that I have worked on in a long time. Abby's necklace was, I have to say SPECTACULAR!!! I had a lovely old brooch tucked away in my stash of goodies, and I knew this would make the perfect necklace for my sweet and petite girl.

(fresh water pearls are wirewrapped on sterling silver and attached to this lovely Vintage brooch)
For the Bridesamaids, Abby wanted something a little chunky, kind of a statement piece. She also wanted something that they could wear long after the Wedding. With a little help from an ETSY friend, we decided on these gorgeous Vintage cabachons; two sizes separated by Swarovksi crystal rounds. All wirewrapped together with oxidized sterling silver. The earrings are Vintage as well - the teardrop shaped beads are amazing and are complemented with Swarovski beads and a length of chain.

Abby has picked a gorgeous shade of Aubergine - leaning a little more towards a Raisin color. So pretty and so popular this season.

I was also asked to make a companion bracelet for a fresh water pearl bracelet that Abby had received from her Dad. I kept it simple by adding a few fresh water pearls, Swarovski crystals, and a lovely Swarovski rhinestone bead. All attached to a delicate sterling silver chain.

The flower girls will each receive this precious little piece; fashioned to resemble the bracelet that Abby is wearing, this one comes complete with a sterling silver flower basket charm. Darling!

I came home last night to find these beauties in my in-box. My jewelry is sold in a little shop in Kirkland, WA called Haley's Cottage. On a recent trip into the shop, a lovely young lady purchased the earrings above to go with her ensemble. Can you say gorgeous???

Here's Michelle looking so pretty wearing my Juliet Earrings.

And they lived happily ever after.

Who says work isn't fun. I get to do this every day! I am blessed and I love seeing the after part. I'm finishing up another wedding order as we speak. So check back soon when I will show you Abby's Wedding - September 4, 2010, and Cathy and Zach's Wedding - September 4, 2010. Congratulations Abby, Cathy and Michelle!

It seems my Vacation is OVER . . .

Well, if you must know, I really didn't go anywhere. I guess you could say I had a bit of a "stay-cation". I just wanted to take a little break from work, just long enough to jot down some thoughts about the upcoming chaos of the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong . . . even though my business is somewhat Holiday oriented, I do love Autumn and of course Christmas!

So here's a few things I did while on my "stay-cation".

Kellan is back at school - we had a great Summer together. We delivered him to his new apartment at WSU (Washington State University - yes, they stink at football, so you probably have never heard of the Cougars). He's ready to finish off his Senior Year and graduate in May, 2011 with a degree in Communications/Public Relations. I'm already keeping my fingers and toes crossed that jobs will be readily available - oh, and I think I will throw in some Hail Mary's too.

I do have some great news too! I was selected to be featured in Matthew Mead's Holiday Magazine that comes out in late October. I can't wait to see what Matthew and Jenny will select as my featured piece. To read the whole story, I've attached the link here: http://www.holidaywithmatthewmead.com/2010/08/announcing-our-winning-advertisers.html

So, I'm back into my Studio to be inspired by all of the new and pretty things that I have picked up along the way this Summer. More to come . . .
