This girl loves Vintage

When the calendar turned over to a new year, I knew it was time for me to make a change too.  Nothing drastic, just a little tweak here and there.  What I realized was that my website had so many categories; it began to look a little jumbled up.  So I evaluated what was there.  Two distinct looks . . . Vintage and antique vs. Contemporary and modern.

While I love both categories, I have to say that my heart really lives and loves Vintage.  I get excited when I find a little treasure; like a pair of cast off clip-on earrings from the 50's-60's.  This makes my heart beat a little faster with the anticipation of what I will do with it.

So, in February, I launched that Vintage part of my line . . . ANTIQUITIES!  I've been really happy with the response I've had for the new pieces.  And I'm excited by ALL the beauties that will be coming to life in the next few weeks.

I will obviously continue to expand the LaMer line.  I have lots of you who love that look too, and I wouldn't want to discriminate :)

For now though, I leave you with a lovely collage of all things v.i.n.t.a.g.e!  Find your favorite here:  http://tippystockton.com/category_30/AN.tiq.UI.ties.htm

Wedded Bliss

Who doesn't love a Wedding? This seems to be the Summer of Weddings for me here at Tippy Stockton. A sweet young lady who I met several years ago approached me in the Spring to design some pieces that she could wear for her Wedding Day, as well as create some lovely pieces for her Bridesmaids. Now this was a project I could sink my teeth into. Not having any daughters myself, I felt like this was an opportunity for me to dream. I have to say, this was one of the most fun projects that I have worked on in a long time. Abby's necklace was, I have to say SPECTACULAR!!! I had a lovely old brooch tucked away in my stash of goodies, and I knew this would make the perfect necklace for my sweet and petite girl.

(fresh water pearls are wirewrapped on sterling silver and attached to this lovely Vintage brooch)
For the Bridesamaids, Abby wanted something a little chunky, kind of a statement piece. She also wanted something that they could wear long after the Wedding. With a little help from an ETSY friend, we decided on these gorgeous Vintage cabachons; two sizes separated by Swarovksi crystal rounds. All wirewrapped together with oxidized sterling silver. The earrings are Vintage as well - the teardrop shaped beads are amazing and are complemented with Swarovski beads and a length of chain.

Abby has picked a gorgeous shade of Aubergine - leaning a little more towards a Raisin color. So pretty and so popular this season.

I was also asked to make a companion bracelet for a fresh water pearl bracelet that Abby had received from her Dad. I kept it simple by adding a few fresh water pearls, Swarovski crystals, and a lovely Swarovski rhinestone bead. All attached to a delicate sterling silver chain.

The flower girls will each receive this precious little piece; fashioned to resemble the bracelet that Abby is wearing, this one comes complete with a sterling silver flower basket charm. Darling!

I came home last night to find these beauties in my in-box. My jewelry is sold in a little shop in Kirkland, WA called Haley's Cottage. On a recent trip into the shop, a lovely young lady purchased the earrings above to go with her ensemble. Can you say gorgeous???

Here's Michelle looking so pretty wearing my Juliet Earrings.

And they lived happily ever after.

Who says work isn't fun. I get to do this every day! I am blessed and I love seeing the after part. I'm finishing up another wedding order as we speak. So check back soon when I will show you Abby's Wedding - September 4, 2010, and Cathy and Zach's Wedding - September 4, 2010. Congratulations Abby, Cathy and Michelle!

I Love Pink . . .

I LOVE Pink . . . and a lot of it. The Funky Junk Sisters Antique Show and Flea Market was decked out in every shade of pink imagineable. The boa's were flaunted, and the feathers were flying on Friday night as the show opened to a blustery wind and a long line of eager shoppers. Debi Kennedy of Retreat was the pink tree designer extraordinaire. She did an amazing job on this gorgeous Pink Christmas tree - tickets were sold for a drawing to benefit Breast Cancer Research and "Save the Ta Ta's". Congrats to the lucky winner!

Pearl was all decked out in Pink for the Party!!!
Lot's of Jewels and pretty bejeweled boxes.

It's Show Time

It seems like just yesterday that I loaded up the trailer to head to my first Funky Junk Sisters Show last June. Well, it's that time again - the loading has started, the glitter is flying, and the anticipation is building. I keep telling myself that this is hard work, but the minute I enter the Show, I know it's all worth it. To hear a bunch of Vintage Junk Crazy Ladies buzzing - it doesn't get any better.
We're heading south tonight to drop off the load, then it's up and out early Friday morning for set-up. I have my road crew with me; John, my sweet helper, cohort, and master set builder, Judy, my lovely neighbor who is always laden with ideas, set display extraordinaire, and Todd, he's on the beautification team. With lots of hands, we should be done in plenty of time to don our pink shirts and get the Show started.
Friday Night is a Breast Cancer benefit called, "Save the TA TA's". Grab a few of your best girlfriends and head out to Puyallup for a really fun evening. Many of the vendors, including me, will be handing out discount coupons for the evening. The Sisters will be selling tickets for the big drawing - a chance to win a gorgeous, already decorated Christmas Tree. There will be food a'plenty, and oh so much FUN!!!
Saturday is an early start for all of us, including you early birds. The doors open at 8:00am sharp for all of you who want to get the best pickins. We finish up on Saturday at 6:00pm.
For all of you who can't attend this amazing show, my websites are both open. They are full of some gorgeous things to kick start the Holiday Season. I'll be shipping on Monday, October 26.
