Tippy Stockton & Paper 'n Stitch = happiness!!!

About a month ago, I stumbled across a lovely website called Paper 'n Stitch. As I investigated further, I realized that this website was a wonderful networking site. Anyone who knows me is aware that I have had this dream to get my jewelry business going. So I decided to inquire further, asked Brittni from Paper 'n Stitch for a little "look-see" and three days later got the word that I was accepted to exhibit . . . congratulations. So, here I am, it's April 27 and my exhibit has started at http://www.papernstitch.com/. The other most amazing part of this website is the fact that Brittni also blogs. That girl is amazing. I love that she is always looking for a story to share about someones business. She definitely has the gift of gab. I feel very honored to be included with such a talented group of fine artists. I hope that you will check out Tippy Stockton on Paper 'n Stitch and feel free to click on the heart on the left side of my site. I welcome all love . . .

Tippy Stockton has arrived at Today's Country Store in Sumner, WA

Quite a few years ago, I made my way to a small town south of Seattle, called Sumner. This quaint, Americana inspired, whistle-stop town reminded me so much of the little town that I grew up in. Main St. in Sumner is like a picture out of the 50's - old architecture, brightly colored awnings, and Mom and Pop shops dotting each side of the street. So, a few times a year, several friends and I made our journey (about 100 miles round trip) to Sumner for great finds for our homes and garden. One shop that always completely inspired me was "Today's Country Store". Let me just tell you a little about myself. I love, love, love all things old and vintage, but unfortunately, I absolutely despise having to dig for it. WEIRD, huh!!! What I love about "TCS" is that everything in the shop is display eye-candy! It's all the things that you see at yard sales, tag sales and estate sales all pulled together to tell a rich story. Just how I love it. I can honestly say that I have never left "TCS" without something special. So I got to thinking that perhaps my "Vintage" jewels would be a good fit for the shop. I scheduled a meeting with Amy and Kris, the lovely shopkeepers and let's just say, the rest is history. I delivered my first supply of Tippy Stockton Jewelry last week. If you are in the area (honestly it's worth the trip to Sumner), stop in and say hello to Amy and Kris and take a peek at my sweet display. Thank you girls for allowing me to be part of such a special place!!!

The shop is filled with everything from birdcages, to McCoy pottery, old vintage suitcases, picket fence pieces . . . I could go on and on. The girls are getting ready to take the shop on the road when they cross the pass over to Spokane for Farm Chicks June 6-7. Please see the tab at the right for more information. This is sure to be one fantastic weekend. If you want to check out the "TCS" blog, go to: http://todayscountrystore.typepad.com

Name that Dressform Contest

Here She is . . .

perfect in every way . . . I have been lusting after this amazing prop for a long time since seeing it at Today's Country Store in Sumner, WA some time ago. I have resisted creating necklaces because I wasn't happy with the photos. I felt like I needed to show it hanging, so voila, a dressform. So for fun, I'm launching a "Name that Dressform" Contest. Please leave me a message here on my BLOG (and don't forget to leave your e-mail address so I can get back to you) or send me an e-mail @ tippystockton@aol.com. So start thinking, be creative and have fun with it!!! I will choose a winner on May 5. The lucky winner of the contest will receive the above earrings - something new to my line that I haven't even put in my shop yet. They are a gorgeous color of salmon and I've paired them up with a vintage German glass flower and fresh water pearl. They are hung on elongated oxidized sterling silver earwires. The recipient of these earrings may choose either oxidized sterling or bright sterling silver. Get thinking and post away!!!

mmmmm Strawberries . . .

It's almost Easter and for all of us here in the Pacific Northwest, it's the time of year when the strawberries begin appearing in abundance at the grocery store. I was shopping for our Easter Brunch and picked up a large pack of strawberries. Decided to hull them, eat them . . . oh no!!! I'll be heading back for more. They were soooo good, they inspired me to find all things Strawberry!!!. Here's a few, enjoy and don't forget to wipe your mouth!

No foolin . . . it's a BOGO Sale!!!

I know it's April Fools Day, but kidding aside, here's the gig!!! My first ever BOGO Sale! What is BOGO, you ask? BOGO stands for "buy one, get one". So for the month of April, you can buy one item at full price, and get the next item at 1/2 off! The 2nd item must be of equal or lesser value. I recently returned from a trip to Southern California. While there, I had the opportunity to poke through a few bead shops. I came across one that was of particular interest BeadsBeads in Orange, CA had an amazing selection of Vintage glass and lucite beads. I felt like I hit a bonanza. You all know that exhilarating feeling when you find something you just love. So, I picked out a few strands, made some new friends, and off I went to start creating. The results are pretty amazing. Look on the side bar of this blog for some of my new items. As I am writing this post, I am watching snow, yes snow coming down like crazy outside my window. Never mind that all of my gorgeous perennials are popping up all over my yard. It is April Fools Day - hmmmm, someone is playing a nasty trick on us here in Washington. So, let's get SPRING going. Visit my website @ tippystockton.etsy.com and treat yourself to something to lift your spirits or to match your Easter bonnet. Happy Spring, I think . . .
